Photoshop basics – blending

I’ve set myself the challenge of learning to draw in 2018. Ultimately, I’d like to learn digital painting, but as it’s important to have good traditional art skills as a foundation, I’ll begin with focusing on pencil and paper techniques.

That said, I did crack out my Wacom graphics tablet, just to have a quick play and get a feel for how it works and how to navigate Photoshop. I had a look at some of the excellent videos on CtrlPaint – which I will be using along with Proko to help develop my art skills – and followed along with the introductory manual blending tutorial in Photoshop. It was a nice little exercise that helped me experience how it feels to use a stylus and tablet, and get used to the pressure sensitivity of the stylus.
